Referrals

Referrals should be addressed to A/Prof Gareth Wynn and can be sent by fax or email.

You need a valid referral to claim the Medicare rebate

To receive the Medicare rebate for specialist consultation fees, you need a valid referral from your GP or another specialist. Without one, Medicare benefits are lower and you are likely to pay more out of pocket.

  • From your GP: valid for 12 months from your first appointment, unless your GP specifies a different period, which can include an indefinite referral.
  • From another specialist: valid for 3 months from your first appointment, or for the length of your stay if you are a hospital inpatient.

Please make sure your referral reaches us before your first appointment.
